Our story began with a simple match on Hinge, but from the moment we met at Twigs for our first date, something felt different. Conversation came naturally, the chemistry was undeniable, and neither of us wanted the night to end. What was supposed to be a casual first date quickly turned into hours of talking, laughing, and realizing we had an effortless connection.
After our second date at Topgolf we both started to realize this connection was rare. We got a chance to see each other's competitive but playful nature! It really started to feel like a perfect match! Again we remember feeling like we didn't want the night to end and as sparks flew we ended the night with our first kiss! Travis was a little nervous to invite Chrissy on our second date because it included two concerts in one night! Was Chrissy down for a double doozy?! Duh!!!
Before long, it was time for our third date: two concerts in one night proved to be the perfect launch! What started out as a surprise introduction to some of Travis' closest friends/family ended up being nonstop laughter, dancing, singing and the unmistakable feeling that we had found something special. From that point on, we were completely inseparable.
As our relationship grew, so did the life we were building together. After a few months, we introduced our kids to each other, one of the biggest and most meaningful steps for both of us. Watching them connect, laugh together, and genuinely enjoy being around one another made us feel even more certain about the future we were creating.
We spent the next several months diving into our new normal, figuring out what life would look like as a family of ten! We carved out time for family activities as well as for just ourselves, we really dove deep! Opening up, breaking down walls and proving that vulnerability, endless love and unwavering support really are the first ingredients to our greatest creation! We meticulously poured ourselves into each other and our family to develop a strong foundation and unbreakable bond.
By the following February, less than a year after meeting, we blended our homes, our routines, and our hearts into one big family of ten. Blending a family is not always easy! It takes patience, flexibility, teamwork, and a lot of love, but it has also been one of the most rewarding and beautiful experiences of our lives.
What started as two people taking a chance on each other has become a loud, busy, love-filled household that we wouldn't trade for anything. Seeing our kids grow together, support one another, and create their own bonds has made this journey even more meaningful than we ever imagined.
Through every chaotic moment, every laugh, every challenge, and every milestone, we continue to choose each other and the life we're building together. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by the people we love most.
One of the most special nights of our lives started with what I (Chrissy) thought was just a romantic evening out at Patio Grill. What I didn't know was that Travis had secretly planned every little detail with the help of two of our closest friends, Melissa and Troy.
The four of us arrived for dinner, and Travis had everyone working together behind the scenes to make the night unforgettable. They had carefully arranged for us to sit in the perfect spot, enlisted the waitstaff to help celebrate afterward, and even planned for champagne to be popped the moment I said "YES!"
The funniest part? I kept trying to get up to wash my hands before dinner, completely unaware of what was about to happen. Meanwhile, everyone was trying to subtly keep me at the table without giving anything away! Somehow, they managed to pull it off.
At just the right moment, Melissa and Troy excused themselves to the restroom, but really they were sneaking away to position themselves nearby so they could watch and secretly record the proposal.
Then came the moment we'll never forget. Travis poured his heart out in the most beautiful, sincere proposal, and of course, I said YES! Champagne popped and the entire restaurant erupted into applause. A few people even came over afterward to congratulate us and share in the excitement.
It was such a beautiful, emotional, joy-filled night! One we'll cherish forever.
A family of ten
The calm, steady force behind our family. As a financial advisor, he's incredibly driven and hardworking, but at home he's best known for being playful, loving, and effortlessly athletic. The kind of dad who shows up for everyone — sweet guy and alpha of the household all at once.
Brings the energy, creativity, and fun wherever she goes. Artistic, outgoing, playful, and usually the loudest person in the room — if you know, you know. Whether she's planning something beautiful or smiling through the chaos of a family of ten, she keeps life colorful.
Our oldest, finishing his senior year of high school before heading off to Weber State University. Athletic, driven, and incredibly sweet. Even with adulthood on the horizon, he still makes time for the younger kids, who absolutely adore him.
A sophomore in high school and one of the sweetest people you'll meet. Caring, playful, easy to be around, and athletically gifted. His special bond with Sunny, our family dog, speaks volumes about his soft and gentle nature.
In 8th grade and recently sponsored by Engage Pickleball — a huge accomplishment that reflects how hard she works. Outside of sports, she loves baking, helping with the younger kids, and being an amazing big sister.
Our science, math, and space enthusiast. In 5th grade and can usually be found talking about video games, the universe, or something fascinating he just learned. Incredibly loyal, protective, and focused — also does jujitsu.
Thoughtful, loving, and creative. She notices when someone needs help and quietly steps in. Whether she's performing in a Cheer competition, making art, or spending time with siblings, she brings fun and enthusiasm.
Easy-going, silly, and full of creativity. A sweet personality that makes everyone comfortable, with funny little comments and an imaginative spirit. The other kids might fight to sit next to her — it's the cutest fight you've ever seen.
